7-zip 4.43 and Debian Sarge

7zip becomes a very popular tool for compression with its algorithm of compression based on LZMA which makes it possible to reduce by 30% a file zip.

A command line version is available for some Unix.

I realize a package for Debian sarge. It's available in my Debian repository.

2 packages are available :

  • p7zip with only 7z compression,
  • p7zip-full with support for a lot of compression format : 7z, ZIP, Zip64, CAB, RAR, ARJ, GZIP, BZIP2, TAR, CPIO, RPM, ISO et DEB
